Over a Dozen Students Injured After Lancaster School Bus Overturns

According to police, more than a dozen people were injured after a hit-and-run driver caused a multi-vehicle crash this morning in East-Lampeter Township.

A Lancaster Mennonite school bus was one of the vehicles involved, and an email detailing the crash was sent out to Lancaster Mennonite school parents.

14 students between the ages of 7 and 16, plus the bus driver, were taken to Lancaster General Hospital. The driver of another car was also injured.

A spokesperson for the hospital said three students were trauma patients, but fortunately most of the students had minor injuries and have been discharged.

Police have described the accident as a hit-and-run and are looking for the driver of the vehicle that fled the scene. Witnesses say the car was weaving in and out of traffic prior to the crash.

The car was described as a light colored sedan, possibly newer, with front end damage. The driver was a male with short hair. Anyone with information should contact East-Lampeter Township police at 717-291-4676.
