Bextra
Bextra Linked to Increased Risk of Cardiovascular Complications
Bextra is an orally administered medication prescribed to treat osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease), adult rheumatoid arthritis (chronic joint inflammation) and dysmenorrhea (severe menstrual cramps). Reports have linked Bextra, a potentially dangerous drug, to an increased risk of fatal heart attacks, strokes, Stevens Johnson Syndrome (SJS) and Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN).
Bextra's manufacturer, Pfizer, Inc., voluntarily removed the drug from the market in 2005 because of its link to serious cardiovascular complications.
