A fatal crash occurred at the intersection of Route 61 and Route 443 around 12:30 pm on Saturday, March 18th.

According to state police, one of two victims killed in the crash was the driver of one of the cars, 57-year-old Mark Naftzinger of New Ringgold, PA. The other victim was a 7-year-old boy from Pottsville, Gage Evans. Gage was the son of the other driver, Lauren Bechtel. Bechtel was injured in the crash and is hospitalized.

Two other other people were also reportedly injured. State police are still investigating the crash but say a reconstruction of the scene failed to reveal why Naftzinger's Subaru and Bechtel's Chevy collided.
