Camp Lejeune

Retain Our Experienced Harrisburg Attorneys

In 1982, the Marine Corps discovered multiple volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the water supply at North Carolina’s Camp Lejeune. The compounds found included benzene, perchloroethylene (PCE), trichloroethylene (TCE), vinyl chloride, and other hazardous compounds—all of which are linked to cancer and other serious diseases. If you were stationed, lived, or worked at Camp Lejeune between January 1953 and December 1987, you may be suffering injuries or illnesses because of the toxic water.

The U.S. Senate passed The Camp Lejeune Justice Act (as a part of the PACT Act), which is why veterans, workers, and their families now have the legal recourse to bring a civil suit forward. Even if you already receive Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits, you are still eligible for compensation under the Camp Lejeune Act, and filing suit will not affect your other benefits.

Please note: When in the best interest of the client, medical malpractice cases may be referred to other law firms.

Metzger Wickersham has been fighting for the rights of our clients since 1888, and with over 135 years of experience, we are equipped to help you understand your legal rights and secure the best possible case results if you pursue litigation. Our attorneys can help those who have:

  • Not yet claimed any disability benefits or healthcare with Veterans Affairs (VA)
  • Not yet claimed disability benefits but have received healthcare with VA
  • Tried to obtain disability benefits from the VA but have had their claims denied

Why You Need a Camp Lejeune Water Contamination Lawyer

If you are a current or former military member, contract worker, or family member who has suffered because of exposure to toxic water at the U.S. Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, you need the help of a skilled attorney in pursuing financial compensation. With the help of an attorney, you can fight for compensation for your medical care (as covered by the new Act) as well as VA disability benefits.

An attorney not only has more experience and legal knowledge but also has the skills needed to help you build a solid case. While you do have the right to bring a case forward, that doesn’t guarantee you will win your case. With the help of qualified attorneys, you can collect evidence to support your case and establish liability.
